Spirit Animal Workshop

Spirit Animal

with Madi Luschwitz

What’s Your Spirit Animal?

Join the incredibly talented Madi Luschwitz for a soulful, creative full-day workshop exploring the idea of the spirit animal through clay.

Throughout the day, Madi will gently lead you through reflection, sketching and hands-on clay work to uncover and bring to life your own spirit animal. You’ll explore form, texture and expression, learning how small details can give personality and meaning to your piece. This is less about rules and more about listening — to the clay, to yourself, and to the stories that emerge as you work.

Expect a relaxed, nurturing atmosphere, time to slow down, connect, and create something deeply personal. You’ll leave with a one-of-a-kind clay spirit animal and a sense of grounding, joy and creative confidence.

A truly special day of making, meaning and magic

Date: Saturday June 20

Patterns of Nature
with Jo Townsend

A Two-Day Nerikomi Workshop

Join acclaimed ceramic artist Jo Townsend for an inspiring two-day exploration of pattern, colour and clay.

Drawing inspiration from the rhythms and structures found in the natural world, Jo will introduce participants to the captivating process of Nerikomi—the Japanese technique of creating patterns by layering and combining coloured clays. From the veins of a leaf to the markings of shells, stones and landscapes, nature provides an endless source of design inspiration.

Throughout the workshop, you'll learn how to develop intricate patterns within the clay itself, revealing beautiful designs that run all the way through the form. Jo will share her unique approach to colour, composition and construction, guiding participants as they create a collection of distinctive pieces rich in pattern and movement.

Suitable for makers with some clay experience, this workshop offers a rare opportunity to learn from one of Australia's leading contemporary ceramic artists and discover the endless possibilities of patterned clay.

Come ready to experiment, play with colour, and uncover the extraordinary patterns hidden within nature.
