Welcome to MUD Ceramics, a pottery studio where creativity and craftsmanship meet to form unique, hand-crafted ceramic pieces. Our studio, located at the Dunn Lewis Centre in Ulladulla, is more than just a place to create pottery—it's a community hub for artists, creatives, and anyone passionate about ceramics.

MUD Ceramics offers immersive courses in Wild Pottery, Glaze Making, and Hand building, all rooted in a deep respect for nature and ancient crafts. These hands-on workshops take place in Ulladulla and Termeil. Wild Clay courses, participants forage for materials directly from the land, engaging with nature at every step of the process.

The courses are inspired by traditional wisdom and aim to reconnect people with ancestral knowledge, emphasising the sustainable harvesting of materials and the full cycle of creation—from gathering resources to crafting beautiful, functional objects. The experience is designed to foster a deeper connection to the natural world and teach practical, lifelong skills.

Our Philosophy

At MUD Ceramics, we believe in the power of hands-on creation. Pottery is not just an art form; it's a therapeutic practice that connects individuals to the earth and to each other. Our studio is dedicated to fostering a welcoming and inclusive environment where people of all skill levels can explore their creativity.

Our Mission

Our mission is simple, to create original, beautiful and uniqe objects that accentuate and add life to all types of spaces to bring joy to people.

About Sue

My practice is hands on, creating with natural objects and clay; connecting and immersing in the sensory experience of making. I forage plants, objects and clay from the beach and the woods, and the land where I live, in Yuin Country. I’m driven by a desire to live a reciprocal life with our ecological relations, alongside the compulsion to create with my hands.

In the making of my work, a dialogue emerges between myself (my hands) and these wild materials. Immersed in the whole cycle of production: harvesting in a sustainable way, processing the raw materials, creating functional and sculptural pieces.
