Learning to throw is about practice — centring the clay, finding the right pressure, learning when to push and when to let the clay do its thing. Some pots work. Some wobble. Some collapse spectacularly. It’s all part of it.
At MUD, you can jump on the wheel for your very first try, come back casually when you need a clay fix, or keep building your skills with regular sessions and one-on-one tuition.
You don’t need experience.
You don’t need to be creative.
And you definitely don’t need to make the perfect pot.
Just get your hands muddy and give it a spin.
Casual Wheel Sessions
There is something captivating about the pottery wheel.
A lump of clay becomes a bowl, a cup, a vessel—guided by your hands, patience, and a little bit of persistence. The wheel teaches us to slow down, pay attention, and embrace the occasional wobble.
Whether you're trying it for the first time, looking for a regular creative outlet, or wanting to develop your skills further, our wheel classes offer a supportive and inspiring space to learn.

The Mud Spinner
Love the wheel and want to keep going, but don’t want to commit to a set weekly course?
Our 5-Session Mud Spinner Pass gives you the freedom to continue your pottery journey at your own pace.
Book your five wheel sessions when they suit you — no need to come at the same time every week. Keep practising, build your confidence, refine your skills and, most importantly, keep making.
Cost $410
Your pass includes 5 × 2-hour wheel sessions, clay, firing and use of our studio glazes.
Once you’ve used your five sessions, you can simply grab another pass and keep your pottery journey rolling.

One on One Wheel
Prefer to learn on your own? Our One-on-One Wheel Lessons are perfect for anyone who wants individual guidance without the group class.
Whether you’re completely new to the wheel, want to build your confidence, or have particular skills you’d like to work on, your lesson is tailored to you and where you’re at.
With your instructor right there beside you, you’ll have plenty of time to ask questions, work at your own pace and really get to grips with throwing.
