Service Description

We are delighted to welcome ceramic artist Lisa Maddern to MUD Ceramics for a full-day workshop exploring the beauty and simplicity of bottle forms. Known for her thoughtfully balanced and quietly expressive work, Lisa will guide participants through the process of handbuilding a series of bottle forms, with a focus on shape, proportion, surface, and individuality. This workshop is an opportunity to slow down and really consider form — the gentle curve of a shoulder, the rise of a neck, the subtle details that transform a vessel into something with presence and character. Through demonstration and hands-on making, participants will explore construction techniques, form development, and surface treatments while creating their own collection of sculptural vessels. Suitable for beginners through to experienced makers, this workshop offers a rare opportunity to spend a day immersed in clay alongside one of Australia's respected ceramic artists. Whether you are interested in functional forms, sculptural vessels, or simply developing a deeper understanding of shape and proportion, this workshop will inspire and challenge your creative practice. All clay, glazes, and firings are included. Spaces are limited and bookings are essential.

Anyone participating in any classes or coming to any events at MUD Ceramics or organised by MUD Ceramics must agree to these terms and conditions. Liability Waiver You agree to take on full responsibility for any damages, injuries and for physical and/or personal property, which you or a family member might incur whilst participating classes and/or events organised by MUD Ceramics.Cancellation/Refund Policy No refund for cancellations within 24 hours of standard workshops, MUD Club, Wheel and MUD Social Sessions. Cancellations up to 24 hours of workshop date will incur a $25 administration charge + any fees incurred by third party providers. MUD Ceramics handmade mugs Anyone participating in any classes or coming to any events at MUD Ceramics or organised by MUD Ceramics must agree to these terms and conditions. Photos and Videos You agree to give MUD Ceramics unrestricted publishing rights for any photographs or videos taken during MUD Ceramics workshops and events or on MUD Ceramics premises (For use on MUD Ceramics social media and in marketing materials). Cancellation/Refund Policy No refund for cancellations within 24 hours of standard workshops, MUD Club, Wheel and MUD Social Sessions. Cancellations up to 24 hours of workshop date will incur a $25 administration charge + any fees incurred by third party providers. Third Party Workshops For workshops hosted by a third party, cancellations outside 14 days of workshop date will incur 50% of workshop price. There is no refund for cancellations made within 14 days. MUD Ceramics reserves the right to cancel a course if insufficient enrolments are received. If a course has to be cancelled or changed in any way, we will contact you by SMS or email.Breakages and Glaze mishaps Clay - and the kiln - has a mind of its own. While we take care, pieces can crack or break during drying or firing. We do our best and realise it is always a disappointment when your creation breaks or the glaze does not work out. Unfortunately this is part of the process and not something we can guarantee against.
