For Kids
At Mud Ceramics, we believe creativity is for kids too.
We offer regular after-school clay sessions on Mondays and Tuesdays, MUD Club, wheel throwing sessions on Wednesdays, and now Mondays at 1pm, especially for homeschoolers. But anyone can join in!
Creative, messy, playful and hands-on — our classes encourage kids to explore clay freely, experiment with ideas, and make without boundaries.
It’s all about muddy hands, big imaginations, and the joy of creating.

After School
Our after school workshops for kids offer a creative space to explore, make, experiment and get wonderfully messy with clay.
Kids learn hand building, sculpting, glazing and pottery techniques while building confidence, creativity and connection. Every session is relaxed, supportive and full of imagination — with plenty of muddy hands, laughter and unique creations along the way.

Mud Club Mondays
For homeschoolers - and anyone really!
A relaxed weekly clay session filled with creativity, conversation, muddy hands and making. Perfect for kids who love to explore, experiment and create at their own pace.
We’ll hand build, sculpt, decorate and play with clay in a welcoming studio space where imagination leads the way. No experience needed — just a willingness to get a little dirty and have some fun.

Wheel Wednesdays
Wheel Wednesdays for Kids
A fun and hands-on introduction to the pottery wheel for creative kids who love to spin, splash and make.
These sessions teach the basics of wheel throwing in a relaxed and supportive studio environment, with plenty of encouragement, muddy hands and laughter along the way. Perfect for curious makers wanting to learn new skills, build confidence and create their own handmade pieces from clay.

We’ll be:
– Hand-building a plate from clay
– Sculpting a grizzly bear face right onto the surface
– Adding ears, snouts, teeth (if you dare) and plenty of texture
– Bringing out expression—fierce, funny or somewhere in between
Each one ends up with its own character… some a little wild, some surprisingly sweet.

Make a Fish Tea Pot
A teapot… but make it a fish.
These holidays we’re diving into something a little bit functional, a little bit quirky, and a whole lot of fun—hand-building our own fish-shaped teapots.
We’ll be:
– Designing and building a teapot from clay
– Turning it into a fish (or something fishy at least)
– Adding fins, scales, tails and expressive details
– Creating a piece that’s both sculptural and usable
It’s a great mix of imagination and making—with just enough challenge to keep things interesting.

A little bit strange, a little bit wonderful… just how we like it.

We’ll be:
– Sculpting our own platypus from clay
– Shaping that iconic bill and paddle tail
– Adding texture, personality and all the quirky details
