Join our Hand Building with Wild Clay Workshop and explore the art of pottery from the ground up. Perfect for beginners and advanced, this hands-on session will guide you through the fundamentals of hand building with wild clay. Week One Learn how to identify and collect clay from the landscape.  You’ll begin the process of getting it ready to use, and we'll take a look at the pit fire where we will finish your pots in a few weeks. Week 2 Using your wild clay, you will shape and make a couple of items, using techniques such as coiling, pinching, slab making and kurinuki. Week 3 At this stage your items will be ready for final shaping and finishing off. Week 4 We will get the pit ready and load it with your items. The process of firing takes 8 - 12 hours so during this time we will experiment with making a wood ash glaze. Book your spot now and get ready to shape your creativity into something beautiful.
